Treating Pelvic Adhesions

Although adhesions commonly form after surgery, trauma or inflammation, they often do not cause any symptoms and do not require any treatment. If treatment is necessary, surgery may be done to cut through the adhesions to restore more normal anatomy. Surgery may be performed through a laparoscope to minimize additional adhesion formation. To prevent adhesions at the time of surgery, anti-adhesions gels or meshes may be used.
